Mastercard "Sell-It" Challenge

Project type

Corporate

Date

September 2017, May 2018

In collaboration with Corporate Visions, a series of internal training videos was produced for Mastercard’s “Sell-It Challenge”, a professional development initiative designed to enhance the company’s global sales strategy. The project combined live-action production and motion design to create a cohesive and engaging training experience for Mastercard’s sales teams worldwide.

Filmed on-location at Mastercard’s headquarters in Purchase, New York, the series was built around multiple components, each addressing a key stage of the training process.

The first installment served as an introductory overview to the “Sell-It Challenge” — an entirely motion graphics–driven piece that blended Mastercard’s bold visual branding with fluid animation, guiding viewers through the structure and goals of the program with clarity and energy.

The second video, titled “Right Way, Wrong Way,” focused on proper customer engagement techniques. Featuring a spokeswoman filmed against a green screen, the production combined live-action performance with composited office environments, animated graphics, and iconography to illustrate best practices through visually dynamic storytelling.

The next phase featured a series of “Customer Scenario” videos, using multi-camera setups to capture authentic interactions between Mastercard sales representatives and customers. Each scenario presented a real-world challenge, demonstrating how to navigate complex sales conversations with empathy, insight, and strategic communication.

Finally, a collection of thirteen “Voicemail Scenario” videos was developed — fully animated, voice-driven modules that simulated client messages with diverse concerns and communication styles. Each video decoded the client’s language, helping sales team members interpret intent, identify needs, and craft thoughtful responses. These pieces featured voiceover artists from multiple regions, ensuring global relatability and accessibility.

The completed series provided Mastercard with a comprehensive, interactive training tool that combined storytelling, visual design, and instructional clarity — helping empower their sales force with practical, real-world guidance delivered through a polished and cohesive video experience.
